How To Speak Alien

May 28, 2014 By Kimberly Kradel

I love the idea of space travel as much as the next guy. I love the idea of star family visitors even more. I would think that if they can make it this far in their travels, to our little blue marble in the middle of nowhere, if they haven’t already learned the English language from our television and radio broadcasts, that they’ve probably perfected the universal translator. Or maybe they will all be telepathic and we will just shoot visuals off to each other.

NASA has just published its first document on first contact, on how to speak to an alien visitor.

Are they getting us ready for something?

Archaeology, Anthropology, and Interstellar Communication

The link above is a free ebook. It’s studious and a bit lengthy and revisits how we ourselves have made first contact with each other as we’ve traveled our planet and encountered other cultures and societies. I’ll be looking forward to see if it mentions anything about how to bring out the welcome wagon. Nothing is more important than being the perfect hostess :)
