NOTICE: CHINATI CLOSED MARCH 12 THROUGH MARCH 24
“At the Chinati Foundation, the safety and well-being of our visitors and staff are among our highest priorities. Upon recommendation from local West Texas health officials, Chinati has been asked to close to the public through March 24, 2020. The tri-county region has limited health resources, so to be a good partner to our local community and our community of visitors we are acting on the recommendation and closing.
For those visitors who have booked tours on the dates affected, please email email@example.com to reschedule or discuss other options.
As a public institution, we rely on the public for support and believe it is our responsibility to be a good public partner in return.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we hope to welcome you in the future.
Please check the Chinati website for further updates.”
NOTICE: BALLROOM MARFA CLOSED FROM MARCH 12 THROUGH MARCH 31
“As a precautionary measure during this time of increased vigilance, Ballroom Marfa will be closing its galleries and stone circle installation from March 12–March 31, 2020.
The safety and well being of the community of Marfa, our visitors, and of our staff is our highest priority. We are closing following the recommendations from local West Texas health officials. As an organization that attracts international crowds, we need to be extra sensitive to the risks that COVID-19 poses to our town because of Marfa’s remote location and limited medical resources.
Unfortunately, this means that we will no longer be hosting Austin Classical Guitar on March 16 and we have postponed our upcoming film screening on March 24 of Landscape Film: Roberto Burle Marx.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and we hope that you will reschedule your visit to Ballroom to a future date.”
