Koke‘e State Park
The beauty of Kokee’s mountain forests is celebrated in hula, Hawaiian music and chant at the annual Eo e Emalani i Alakai festival, happening this year on October 13, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Kokee State Park. The festival, which celebrates Hawai‘i Queen Emma’s 1871 visit to the Kokee area, features a reenactment of her entourage’s arrival on horseback, which will begin at 11 a.m. Free and open to the public, Eo e Emalani i Alakai will feature exhibits, crafts, a silent auction and delicious food.
The festival — co-sponsored by the Hawai`i Tourism Authority and the County of Kaua`i, along with many community partners and businesses — has grown to be one of the most popular and authentic events on Kaua`i.
Enjoy the exhibits, crafts, silent auction and delicious food! ADMISSION IS FREE!
