You can now reserve your tickets to the de Young museum online as of today. The de Young plans to reopen to the public on September 25, 2020 – pending City of San Francisco approval – and they have prepared extensive safety measures to ensure that you return to a safe and healthy environment. For starters, there will be a reduced capacity, limiting the number of visitors to 25% of normally permitted numbers and there will be ticketed timed entries.
The de Young is offering free general admission for essential workers, who will also receive a $15 discount on tickets to special exhibitions, through December 2021. This discount can be redeemed on-site with your work badge.
General admission to the Museums will continue to be free every Saturday for all residents of the nine-county Bay Area. The first Free Saturdays event at the de Young museum is scheduled for September 26. Free Saturdays tickets will be timed and can be reserved in advance online.
