Out Of The Archives:
Photo Of The Day: The Elmwood Cafe

Out of focus images are not usually top picks for this category, but this one hits me in such a painterly way. It could be because the entire photograph is evenly out of focus. It could be the lighting, or the out of focus faces … I don’t know why, I just know that as soon as I took this image I liked it.

So does it matter if you like it? Nope.

My friend B. and I were having coffee at the Elmwood Cafe in Berkeley last week when he was visiting from Britain, and we both had our cameras out, capturing little moments. It was fun shooting the same things, but in different ways, comparing our shots, angles, and compositions.
